KICP will only fund students who have completed their candidacy exam and are working on thesis research with an advisor who is a KICP member.

Since we are now getting many requests, we will only fund one trip a year per student and a maximum of 10-12 students a year.

In general except when attending a "school", Students are expected to present a poster or a talk.

To apply for travel support send an email request to Evalyn Gates, KICP Assistant Director.
Application should include:

• Title/Abstract of paper
• Email of support from advisor
• Rough budget (under $1200)

The following expenses cannot be reimbursed by the KICP.

• Pay TV and video rentals
• Personal entertainment such as attending a professional sports event
• Health club fees
• Domestic car rental collision and damage waiver (CDW) insurance (*)
• Personal injury (PI) insurance coverage

(*) Please note: Car insurance (CDW) will not be reimbursed. The University provides blanket coverage for collision, damage waiver and liability insurance for rental cars. Refer to U of C TravelNET, Insurance for a full explanation of benefits. [more]

Please print out and sign the "Travel Reimbursement form" and submit it to Aimee Giles (LASR 215) along with your travel receipts.

Omega Airport Shuttle runs shuttles from Hyde Park to O'Hare and Midway airports every hour from early in the morning till late at night. Reservations are not required. For a full schedule and pick up points look at their website.
