Charles Shapiro Graduate Student Department of Physics University of Chicago I study cosmology theory at the Kavli Institute for Cosmological Physics. My focus has been on observational probes of dark energy.

Above is a picture of me with Urania, the muse of Astronomy and Astrology. Long ago, funding for the former was often stimulated by interest in the latter, so maybe I can forgive her for the fact that 1/3 of Americans think astrology is scientific. Note the beautifully chiseled features... oh, I wasn't referring to the statue.
