The Center for Cosmological Physics offers internship opportunities for Undergraduates. We are currently accepting applications for our REU program for Summer 2003.

 
2003 CfCP Fellows Search

CfCP Fellows Search: CfCP has closed the search for fellows for the year 2003. We are happy to welcome our new fellow appointees Christopher Gordon (from DAMTP, Cambridge UK), Andrew Zentner (from Ohio State University). We are also pleased to welcome Risa Wechsler (from University of Michigan) who will jointly hold Enrico Fermi and CfCP fellowships at Chicago.

MAP satellite results

February 11, 2003 Results from the first year of data on the CMB anisotropy collected by the MAP Satellite were presented by CfCP senior memer Stephan Meyer in a special CfCP seminar, simultaneous with a press conference at NASA Headquarters in Washington DC.

Cosmology with Sunyaev-Zeldovich Cluster Surveys

CfCP has organized "Cosmology with Sunyaev-Zeldovich Cluster Surveys" workshop which has been focused on the question of how real galaxy clusters, with all their non-idealities, can be used for precision cosmology.

The Center for Cosmological Physics has offered a pioneering short course "Cosmology course 2003" for planetarium staff aimed at incorporating modern cosmology into public programming.

Ground-Based Supernova Surveys

CfCP has organized "Ground-Based Supernova Surveys" workshop to bring together 20-30 key people involved in on-going and planned surveys to assess their goals, discuss results if they're available, and at least raise the issue of strategy and coordination.
